Ranjitha Rangaswamy

Lawyer, HCDE researcher, and product-minded builder

Interested in startups, legal and regulatory technology, AI safety, and AI ethics.

Hello, I’m Ranjitha

I’m a licensed litigator from India, now pursuing Human-Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington. My work sits at the intersection of law, startups, legal and regulatory technology, AI safety, and AI ethics.

I approach problems with research-led, human-centered methods: mapping complex services, testing assumptions, and prototyping products for regulated, high-trust contexts. I care about translating legal and policy complexity into usable, accountable systems.

Based in Seattle with roots in Bengaluru, I’m drawn to teams building at the edge of law, product strategy, risk, trust, and emerging AI systems.

What I’m focused on

  • Startups building in regulated or high-trust domains
  • Legal technology and regulatory technology
  • AI safety, AI ethics, and accountable product systems

Previously

  • Litigator and legal counsel handling civil/criminal matters
  • Pro‑bono legal support and dispute resolution
